A restless crowd demanded answers and solutions from the district offices of El Dorado County on Thursday night, after learning that snow removal services would be far more limited than in years past. The main reason for these limited operations lies in the lower pay offered to potential snow removal employees.

El Dorado County is grieving the loss of longtime District 1 Supervisor John Hidahl, who passed away suddenly on Saturday afternoon at his home. Hidahl, a dedicated public servant and respected leader, was a longtime resident of El Dorado Hills, the community he represented. He was serving his final term as District 1 Supervisor, having devoted decades of service to his county and its residents.

City Council for the City of South Lake Tahoe and the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement establishing the South Shore Transit Joint Powers Authority on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Water officials at the El Dorado County Irrigation District are awaiting test results from the waters of Folsom Lake after a pipeline break in a nearby residential neighborhood sent raw sewage into the reservoir.

In their second virtual workshop of the summer, El Dorado County's team for the Tahoe El Dorado (TED) Area Plan presented the feedback and engagement they've received over the summer and discussed the next steps. The team projects that the final TED plan phase will be completed in June 2026, when they will adopt a final area plan.

The City of South Lake Tahoe has confirmed key negotiation terms at City Council on Aug. 13 regarding a joint powers authority with El Dorado County for transit in South Lake.
